Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Research Nurse post within the Lerner Lung & Mesothelioma Research Unit (Cross site). We are a highly regarded busy multidisciplinary team performing both clinical and research work. The successful applicant will manage their own caseload of patients on clinical trials with the support of the wider research and clinical team. It is essential to have previous clinical research experience and/or lung cancer experience. The successful applicant should have a flexible approach to duties and the ability to work both as part of the team and independently. Excellent communication, administrative and IT skills, and being supportive and open to new initiatives are particularly valued. This role involves continued support and care for patients who require close monitoring and continuity of care due to the nature of their disease.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload of patients on clinical trials with support from the wider research and clinical team.
* Recruit, educate and monitor patients entering a clinical trial in collaboration with the principal investigator and multidisciplinary team.
* Coordinate and manage a clinical research portfolio, ensuring continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.
* Provide advice and information to patients and act as their advocate.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support screening and identification of suitable cancer patients.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous clinical research experience and/or lung cancer experience is essential.
* Flexible approach to duties with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication, administrative and IT skills.
* Supportive, open to new initiatives and able to contribute to high-quality data and patient care.
