Salary: Up to £17.77 an hour
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating Star CNC sliding head machines to produce precision engineered components to tight tolerances.
- Working as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist with materials including stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastics.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture of components.
- Editing programmes and making offset adjustments using Fanuc controls on Star sliding head machinery.
- Carrying out first off inspection and in process quality checks using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Ensuring Star sliding head machines are maintained correctly, tooling is replaced when required and downtime is minimised.
- Working to production schedules while maintaining high quality and accuracy standards.
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures within the manufacturing environment.
Key Skills
- Proven experience as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist setting and operating Star sliding head machines.
- Strong understanding of Fanuc controls and programme editing.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances within a fast paced engineering environment.
- Competent using a wide range of measuring and inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to shifts and overtime where required
