Victim Case Worker – Norfolk & Suffolk Victim Care Service (NSVCS)
Job Description
Catch22 is looking for a compassionate and motivated Victim Case Worker to deliver trauma‑informed support to victims and witnesses of crime. The role involves building strong relationships, guiding victims through the criminal justice process, coordinating referrals, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a joined‑up approach with police, CPS, Witness Care and other agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with victims and witnesses.
* Provide practical and emotional support tailored to individual risks and needs.
* Guide victims through the criminal justice process and provide information on rights and entitlements.
* Coordinate referrals to statutory and voluntary agencies.
* Maintain accurate case records using case‑management or data systems.
* Assess needs, develop tailored support plans and share timely updates on criminal proceedings.
* Address safeguarding concerns appropriately.
Qualifications
* Educated to a good standard, including GCSE‑level English and Maths (minimum).
* Experience working with highly vulnerable people.
* Proven ability to manage a caseload and deliver tailored interventions.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working in partnership with agencies to deliver high‑quality services.
* Ability to work effectively in a high‑volume environment while maintaining accuracy.
* IT literate with experience using case‑management or data systems.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
Desirable
* Professional qualification relevant to working with under‑supported people.
* Knowledge of restorative principles and their application.
Employment Details
* Contract: Permanent
* Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
* Salary: £27,000 gross per annum.
* Location: Norfolk & Suffolk (on‑site with some flexibility).
* Recruitment process: Two stages – screen interview (telephone) followed by 1–1 interview (in person).
Eligibility
Candidate must have right to work in the UK and evidence of residency in the UK for the past 3 years for NPPV check.
Must be subject to DBS, NPPV, and Right to Work checks.
