Brightpoint invites applications for the Sr. Accounting Manager position. This position provides supervisory and operational support to the Financial Services Office by overseeing key accounting and financial management functions. Core responsibilities include managing the College’s asset management and risk property programs, maintaining asset records in PeopleSoft Asset Management and the Virginia Agency Property System (VAPS), and supporting ARMICS internal control processes to ensure compliance with Commonwealth, VCCS, and College policies.
The position also supports fiscal management activities within PeopleSoft, assists with the preparation of year-end financial statements and schedules in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, coordinates budget monitoring and reporting, and supervises assigned staff. In addition, the role assists the VCCS System Office with identifying and documenting leases, contracts, and other financial arrangements to support compliance with GASB standards and related financial reporting requirements. Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a college or university with major studies in accounting or a related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in accounting within an educational institution. Experience working with State accounting functions.
