Salary: £34,434 – £42,839 (Scp 29 – Scp 38).
Type: Full time (37 hours per week), permanent (flexible, part‑time hours considered).
Location: Brecon, Powys, LD3 7HP / hybrid working.
Position Overview
Brecon Beacons National Park Authority has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to join its Heritage Team which consists of two Senior Heritage Officers (Building Conservation) and an archaeologist. The post will support all aspects of the historic environment including processing pre‑application enquiries, Listed Building Consent applications, Conservation Area Consent applications, advising on heritage‑related planning applications, policy development and the delivery of our flagship Heritage Environment Partnership and related projects.
Responsibilities
* Process pre‑application enquiries.
* Handle Listed Building Consent applications.
* Handle Conservation Area Consent applications.
* Advise on heritage‑related planning applications.
* Develop policies related to heritage conservation.
* Deliver the Heritage Environment Partnership and related projects.
Qualifications
* Degree in a building conservation related field.
* Previous relevant experience with listed buildings and the historic environment.
* Strong understanding of heritage conservation principles.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a heritage team.
