Additional days added for long service *Why you?* * You will be able to help provide high standards of care and education to meet the individual needs of the children * You are able to provide play based learning opportunities for all children * You will be able to adhere to all company policies and procedures and maintain positive working relationships with the team, parents and carers * You will know when to report issues of concern to a senior team member * You have a positive attitude and creative ideas to inspire learning * You have good verbal and written communication skills with adults and children * You will have great planning and organisation skills * You will have a willingness to learn * Ensure high levels of interaction with children in order to help extend their learning * Support children at mealtimes ensuring these provide a positive social experience for the children * Provide support for children who are transitioning to new settings * Help children with feeding, changing clothes, nappies, toileting etc *Essentials* * Level 2 or above valid childcare qualification * GCSE- grades 5-9/A-C * Willingness to learn * Flexible mindset * Be able to learn to deal with the parents in a sympathetic and supportive manner * Able to ensure the safety and welfare of children by learning and following our policies and procedures * Committed to the safeguarding of the children in our care * Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative *Key responsibilities* * Contribute to a high standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment and resources to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage * Ensure appropriate planning and assessment is accurately maintained for key children * Prepare and supervise activities * Supervise and support children at all times * Ensure that equality of access and opportunity is provided to all children, parents, staff and visitors * Ensure that all children are kept safe * Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, colleagues and visitors * Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers * Work as part of a team to ensure the company’s values are maintained * Attend monthly staff meetings, planning meetings and undertake training as required *Hear from one of our Early Years Assistants, Chloe:* I love the people that I work with. I have done Paediatric First Aid training, as well as other key courses such as FGM, Safeguarding etc. I work in a room supporting the Room Leader and other qualified practitioners who have helped me gain experience whilst on the job. Early Years is so rewarding as you see the children that you support daily, grow and develop as their individual characters begin to flourish. All posts involving direct contact with children and vulnerable adults are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected'. These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account.
