What you'll be doing
Role Purpose - To undertake Site Engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting of progress.
Accountabilities:
Core
1. Live the Balfour Beatty Values
2. Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
3. Support the delivery of CSUKs Sustainability activities
Health Safety & Environmental
4. Attend and assist with daily DABs and SIC meetings on site
5. Review and approve Subcontractors WPPs
6. Carry out associated briefings and safety Inspections
7. Hazard Identification and contribution to development of Safe System of Work.
Engineering Control
8. Manage Sub Contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; providing direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved.
9. Have an input into the Review and approval of ITPs
10. Participate with the management of internal/external design team/consultants to meet project deadlines under supervision from the Project Engineer or Project Manager
11. Maintain registers of equipment and testing regimes
Quality
12. Production of as-built drawings & records for every element of the works involved in completion of Quality Check Sheets and production of information for Handover Documentation in a timely manner in line with programme
13. Maintaining accurate records Daily Diary, photographs where permissible, records of site discussions
Productivity
14. Measures actual materials used and reconciles with theoretical measure, reporting and investigating reasons for differences
15. Works to Weekly Programme (drafted by others) and marks up progress achieved weekly
16. Contributes to collection of data for Key Performance Indicators, including reasons for difference
Commercial
17. Production of accurate daily diary of resources, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and outputs
18. Produces weekly measure. Take offs and schedules materials accurately, producing accurate and clear requisitions, following through to delivery

19. Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
20. Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
21. Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
22. Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
23. Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
24. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners and delivery team members under time pressure, and a customer centric, flexible approach;

25. Environmental awareness
Engineering Control
26. Setting out techniques ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
27. Able to report issues with control and information provided
Quality
28. Reads and understands drawings and schedules
29. Understands Activity Control Plans and production of resultant information for handover file
30. Strong understanding of construction tolerances
31. Awareness and use of Specification and other Contract documents
32. Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works
Productivity
33. Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately
Commercial
34. Knowledge of specification and contract documents
35. Understands what constitutes additional works
Additional Requirements
36. Candidates to be UK National with a valid UK Passport held for a minimum of 5 Years
37. Obtain the following Security Clearances:

39. SC Clearance
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
40. Knowledge of the M&E Building Services delivery within the building Construction Industry
41. Knowledge of Defence M&E Specifications
42. Leadership skills developing
