32.5 hours per week – Term Time Only
Grade 4 – (£25,583 x 77.15%)

The Governing Body wish to appoint a School Clerk (Level 2) to work at Maesgwyn Special School to complement our existing team.
Maesgwyn Special School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community for pupils aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, physical difficulties, and Behaviour, Emotional & Social Difficulties (BESD).
Our ethos is rooted in wellbeing, ensuring that every learner feels supported, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential. We offer a balanced academic and vocational curriculum, enabling our pupils to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for lifelong success. Main duties of the role
Organisation
Undertake reception duties, answering general telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors
Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc.
Assist in arrangements for school trips, events etc.
Administration
Provide general clerical/admin. support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, complete standard forms, respond to routine correspondence
Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems
Produce management information required e.g. pupils’ data
Undertake typing and word-processing and other IT based tasks
Take notes at meetings
Sort and distribute mail
Undertake administrative procedures
Maintain and collate pupil reports
Undertake routine administration of school lettings and other uses of school premises
Resources
Operate relevant equipment/ICT packages (e.g. word, excel, databases, spreadsheets, Internet Vision, Bromcom, Plasc)
Maintain stock and supplies, cataloguing and distributing as required
Operate uniform/snack/other ‘shops’ within the school
Provide general advice and guidance to staff, pupils and others
Undertake general financial administration e.g. processing orders
Responsibilities
Comply with and assist senior management team in the development of school procedures i.e. child
Promote equal opportunities and diversity within the workplace.
Contribute to and support the schools culture
Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
