We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual, to work as part of, and to provide support, training and mentoring to, a team responsible for the administration and processing within the Revenues Service.

The Council Revenues and Benefits Service is responsible for Billing, Collection and Recovery of Council Tax, Business Rates and Housing Benefit Overpayment & Sundry Debt.

We welcome collaborative thinkers, excellent communicators, enthusiastic to work in conjunction across sections and can demonstrate a clear customer focus with established customer service skills balanced with effective service delivery.

Currently, we are seeking to appoint a full-time position of 37 hours per week within the Housing Benefits Overpayment & Sundry Debt Recovery team.

The position will be based at Howden House Office although we operate a hybrid working pattern with the expectation of 20% attendance in office each week.

For this role you will need a range of skills and experience, and including:

1. Experience and in-depth working knowledge of Council Tax, Housing Benefits Overpayment & Sundry Debt and Business Rates.
2. Experience and knowledge of accurate Billing, Collection, Recovery across teams and different income streams.
3. Experience in maximising income, collection, and recovery of debts via different available options to progress unpaid debts through the Recovery cycle.
4. Excellent I.T. skills. There is a requirement to be familiar with Revs&Bens processing systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications especially Excel and Word.
5. Experience and knowledge of a customer focused approach to service delivery, balanced with the needs of the service users.
6. Experience of dealing with internal & external customers via all available communication channels.

This varied and challenging role requires a keen commitment to teamwork, exceptional communication skills, customer care skills, the ability to liaise effectively and professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
