Functional Skills Tutor – Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
£25–£30 per hour | Flexible hours | 1:1 and small-group tuition
TP Tutors is seeking motivated and supportive Functional Skills Tutors to deliver high-quality tuition in Long Eaton and across Nottinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity to help learners build confidence in English and maths, gain essential skills, and prepare for Functional Skills qualifications.
The Role
You will provide personalised tuition on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, working with learners in homes, schools, or community venues. Sessions will focus on developing practical literacy and numeracy skills, bridging learning gaps, and preparing students for Entry Level through to Level 2 Functional Skills assessments.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging tuition in English and maths (Entry Level to Level 2)
* Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities
* Break down concepts into practical, accessible steps for learners
* Track progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
* Comply with safeguarding and child protection policies
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum
* Teaching or tutoring experience (young people and/or adults)
* Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH learners is desirable
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Current safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
