Performs general clerical work; creates and maintains files; prepares letters, memoranda, and reports; schedules appointments and places calls for officers and other Police Department personnel. May perform general clerical and secretarial duties as assigned for police, detention or animal control personnel. Greets citizens, answers telephones, and provides excellent customer service. Serves as first contact for members of the public regarding questions and concerns for walk-in and telephone customers; provides information and referrals to members of the public as appropriate. May perform duties of CID Clerk and/or Executive Secretary as assigned and in the absence of the CID Clerk and/or Executive Secretary. Maintains strictest confidentiality
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Education and Experience:a. High School Diploma or GED; ANDb. Five (5) years related experience and/or training2. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license and be insurable by City’s auto insurance provider3. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Special Requirements
Background investigation and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required.
