Do you have experience with the delivery of mental health and wellbeing advice and support to children, young people, and their families? Or experience working with children and young people with common mental health difficulties and behavioral needs? The Mental Health Support Teams operate within the 'getting help' aspect of the Thrive model and collaborate closely with various pathways as part of the Children's Mental Health Function.
In this role, you will contribute to assessments and undertake planned interventions with children, young people, and their families under the supervision of qualified practitioners within MHST and/or Supervising Practitioners. You will work with colleagues to enable schools to develop and embed mental health and wellbeing strategies, liaising with teaching staff, associated roles within education settings, and partner services and agencies.
Your responsibilities include early identification and intervention of mental health needs, delivering emotional health and wellbeing promotion activities, and preparing, planning, and delivering individual or group therapeutic interventions as indicated in the care plans, with supervision. You will also review care plans, ensure documentation standards, participate in parent support groups, and review risk assessments in collaboration with qualified practitioners. Prompt communication of any changes in condition and updating risk assessments and care plans accordingly are essential.
You will deliver and contribute to evidence-based brief interventions addressing health, lifestyle, and behavioral issues, including providing brief advice, group interventions, guided self-help, signposting, resource creation, and supporting digital initiatives.
