Our client is a long-established and highly respected business based in Barnet, known for its stable team, supportive working environment, and commitment to developing early-career finance professionals.
They are now looking to recruit a Graduate Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeping Assistant to join their growing finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with 3–6 months of commercial experience in bookkeeping, finance, or an accounting role who is looking to build a long-term career in accounting.
The Role
Working closely with the finance team, you will gain hands-on experience across a range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks while developing your knowledge of modern accounting systems.
Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping
*
Processing purchase invoices and sales invoices
*
Supporting bank reconciliations
*
Maintaining accurate financial records
*
Assisting with accounts preparation and reporting
*
Working with Xero accounting software
*
Supporting the wider finance team with administrative accounting tasks
The Ideal Candidate
We are keen to speak with candidates who are enthusiastic about building a career in finance and accounting.
You will ideally have:

A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, OR
*
3–6 months commercial experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounts
*
Some experience or knowledge of Xero (highly desirable)
*
Confidence using Apple Mac systems
*
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
*
A proactive and professional attitude
*
Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn
