The Role:
As a Server Programmer at Red Rover Interactive, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side technologies that power our online gaming experiences. Your expertise will contribute to creating seamless and engaging multiplayer gameplay for our players.
You will design and implement server-side systems and architecture to support thousands of concurrent players. This includes developing network protocols and APIs for client-server communication, optimizing server performance and scalability, and collaborating with game designers, client programmers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of server-side features. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and support to team members.
You will have ownership and responsibility, shaping an innovative and scalable server architecture.
We are looking for someone who:
* Proficiency in server-side programming using C++.
* Experience with network programming and socket communication.
* Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
In addition, we expect you to:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
* Familiarity with multiplayer game development concepts and practices.
* Proven experience in server-side development in Unreal Engine.
* Good understanding of Unreal's replication and network model.
* Experience with client-side prediction.
