A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
AND MY SON
I am a lady in my 40s living in the Rhondda. I currently require a weekend PA to provide support and companionship while out in the community and to help me gradually regain my independence while outdoors.
The role will also require the PA to travel outside of the local area to places that are of interest to me that will help with my current studies. I also enjoy shopping trips, going for a coffee, the occasional trip to the cinema and going to classes that will widen my knowledge as I enjoy learning. The support would also require the PA to engage in a graded exposure plan that will enable me to eventually become completely independent outdoors. The plan will require the PA to assist me with using public transportation on times. I would therefore require a PA that will be supportive of me regaining my independence while also being understanding of the fluctuating nature of my condition.
The role will also include providing cover for my other PAs annual leave and sickness which would be on a weekday. There may also be a rare occasion where an overnight or evening would be required however this would only be a handful of times per year.
PLACE OF WORK
Both home and in the community as required.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The role is to provide support to me, I occasionally need support to take part in activities with my son, depending what is required on the day.
Encourage me to get out by myself and potentially meet me in places, be supportive but not too pushy (i will discuss this further at interview)
HOURS OF WORK
Weekend only
Every other Sunday with a view to it be becoming every Sunday from January
Possibly occasionally on a Saturday
I can be a little flexible
RATE OF PAY
£14.00 per hour
40p mileage allowance

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
5. Reliable
6. Mature in life
7. Able to provide some flexibility
8. Someone able to work with either me or my son, depending on requirements
9. Will have own vehicle with business insurance as this will be mandatory for the role
10. Ability to work as part of a wider team of PAs
11. Experience of working with children with Autism and ADHD is highly desirable for this post, however personal experience would be considered dependent upon knowledge.
