Role Description
We are seeking an organised and proactive Service Department Controller to join our busy plant hire operation. This is a key role responsible for coordinating service and maintenance activities, ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standards while minimising downtime.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment environment
* Strong organisational and scheduling skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Proficient in IT systems and service management software
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate all service, maintenance, and repair work for plant equipment
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation
* Liaise with customers regarding service updates, breakdowns, and repairs
* Monitor parts availability and coordinate with suppliers
* Support the hire desk to ensure equipment availability meets demand
* Handle breakdowns efficiently, arranging timely repairs or replacements
