LOCATION: Based in Kingston, UK (on site in office requirement 2 days a week)
ROLE MISSION:
We are looking for a Social Media Content Lead to be based in-house at a global FMCG powerhouse in Kingston. The role is tasked with leading and supporting a team of UK and European based Social Media Managers and Content Creators. This role will oversee social first content excellence, be a key partner to client stakeholders and ensure teams are executing social strategies effectively. You will not own specific channels but will have close relationships with brand, digital and social stakeholders in a category, group or division.
Our ideal candidate blends strategic social expertise with client servicing wizardry and has prior experience managing people. You should enjoy getting your hands dirty across trending, insightful social media content, social strategy, performance optimisation and overall growth across a suite of brands.
The role is best suited to someone with 6+ years’ experience working in social media either agency or client side. You know how to get the best out of people having managed a team in the past. You should be an empathetic and inspiring leader who lives and breathes social and culture to understand the impact these two areas can have on marketing. You should have an excellent understanding of what compelling social creative is with experience working in blended teams on big campaigns and organic social. You should be adept at working with clients and juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Established in 2016, U-Studio is Unilever’s in-house creative agency, specialising in the creation of needs content and social & digital advertising. Powered by OLIVER agency it houses a wealth of strategic and creative, giving brands access and proximity to the right skillsets at the right times. U-Studio is a global network spanning 20 markets and all Unilever categories, giving us a huge variety of briefs to work on.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE
* Be accountable for SMM implementation across range of brands, helping to embed and nurture best practice habitual behaviours in line with U-Studio maxims.
* Sense-check trending reactive opportunities executed across range of brands, reviewing cultural opportunities against risk and protecting brand and/or maximising opportunity whenever possible.
* Engage with and be accountable for social channel strategy across brands, specifically the SMM engagement executions linked to strategic content/channel recommendations and media campaigns.
* Work hand-in-hand with data delivery team to feed into SMM objectives and measurements in ongoing reporting deliverables as well as longer-term benchmarking.
* Work within the Digital Marketing, Media and Commerce team structure to ensure fully connected consumer journeys land for the brands, on time in full
* Become a trusted voice to clients, supporting SMMs in their interactions and management of clients. Supporting and speaking directly to brand team in the delivery of big-ticket social deliverables.
* Setting and optimising the team’s perspective on social media
* Key point of contact for management across creative, client services, strategy teams as well as a liaison to the clients.
* Oversight on Social Media Managers team activities and any strategy or major callouts
* Support cross department communications between SMMs, brands, external teams
* Oversee final deliverables (content calendar, social snapshot, other reporting etc)
* Attending client presentations with the SMMs as needed
* Reviewing the work, setting inspiring expectations and goals.
* Mentoring and coaching
* Managing HR admin: holiday approvals, reviews, feedback, client relationships
Client Management:
* Receiving any requests for changes of team structure or brand portfolio and working with client services team to recommend the necessary changes that result.
* Receiving team feedback from clients and using this to steer the correct course of action, be that an internal promotion or guidance on performance etc.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* 6+ years of experience working on social in agencies or brands, Europe-based
* Experience working with an enterprise social media management tool, e.g. Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Spredfast (Khoros), Sprout, Brandwatch, Meltwater.
* Be adaptable to learning as AI will play a key role in the workstreams and how they are managed. This is a key growth area.
* Excellent verbal communication and written skills
* Proven work experience as a social media manager
* Highly organised with a proactive attitude
* You’re excited about the integration of Gen AI tools and approach new innovations with energy and curiosity
* Social metrics aware & social content savvy
* On the pulse of platform innovations and their applications to brands
* Prior experience presenting findings and ideas to clients, confidence to explain decisions
