Justice Worker - Court Team and Justice Pathways Service

Edinburgh Justice Services are expanding our Bail Supervision scheme. We are seeking to recruit 3 enthusiastic individuals to support this work and other duties, who are willing to work across sites in Edinburgh.
One of the candidates will join our Court Social Work Team that has an office within Edinburgh Sheriff Court. Key tasks include:
1. Completing Bail Supervision and Electronic Monitoring Assessment Reports for people who are at risk of remand.
2. Completing welfare checks and providing support to people appearing in custody.
3. Liaising with partner agencies and other teams within Justice Services.
4. Responding to people presenting at the Court Social Work office.
The other two candidates will join our Justice Pathways Service that operates out of our Grindlay Street Court office. Key tasks include:
5. Supervising people subject to Bail Supervision and supporting them to comply with the conditions of their bail.
6. Collaboratively developing individual bail supervision management plans, which identify areas of need and plans to address these needs, including linking people in with drug and alcohol services, health, accommodation, as well as education and employment supports.
7. Providing progress reports to the Courts.
8. Being involved in the development and delivery of interventions, including groupwork.
Successful candidates must be willing to work flexibly across sites, including Edinburgh Sheriff Court, Grindlay Court Social Work Office, and our Women's Centre who are based in the New Kirkgate Shopping Centre.
Our Bail Supervision scheme is intended to provide a robust and credible alternative to remand in custody, whereby people accused or convicted of an offence (or offences) are assessed as requiring a level of supervision, monitoring, and support to adhere to bail conditions.
