What you will train to do...
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and budget forecasts.
* Support the financial accounting team in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data, analyze trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial models, spreadsheets, and databases to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
* Participate in cost control initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures.
* Gain exposure to financial systems and software, assisting in data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records.
* Engage in ad-hoc projects and tasks as directed by senior members of the financial accounting team, gaining exposure to a wide range of financial activities.
* Assist with the preparation of the Direct Liquidity Reporting to Group Treasury on a monthly basis in line with their requirements.
* Assist with the checking and preparation of VAT returns when required.
* Carry out and support tax-related projects on an ongoing basis.
* Complete all related coursework for the apprentice standard.
What we need from you...
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English, level 4 and above.
* Enthusiasm for pursuing a career in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis is a plus.
* Basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
