Responsibilities
As a General Practice Nurse at Medicus Health Partners, you will:
* Develop and implement health promotion and disease prevention programmes.
* Manage and deliver treatment plans for patients with long-term conditions.
* Provide emergency care and support patients in urgent situations.
* Administer vaccinations and immunizations for adults and children.
* Offer advice and support for family planning, mental health, and other health concerns.
* Conduct cervical cytology consultations and manage uncomplicated wounds.
* Collaborate with the general practice team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Utilise technology to manage patient data and support clinical decision-making.
Additional Responsibilities (Clinical Practice)
* Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate health programmes; manage and evaluate treatment plans for long-term conditions.
* Prioritise health problems and intervene in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiating emergency care.
* Support health promotion strategies and self-care principles; conduct opportunistic health promotion (e.g., new-patient medicals).
* Provide information on medications, interactions, and side effects; advise on family planning and cervical cytology needs; manage wounds.
* Participate in vaccination programmes for adults and children and travel vaccinations where appropriate.
* Promote evidence-based care and support minor-surgery sessions in collaboration with senior practitioners.
Communication
* Demonstrate sensitive and clear communication; obtain informed consent.
* Support patients who are receiving bad news and adapt communication to cultural and individual needs.
* Assist patients to adhere to prescribed treatment regimens; anticipate and address barriers to communication.
Quality of Service
* Work within your competence and the NMC code of conduct.
* Maintain accurate patient records; manage workload to maintain quality.
* Follow NSF/NICE guidelines; participate in quality governance and audit cycles.
* Collaborate to improve healthcare quality; learn from patient feedback and incidents; adhere to safeguarding policies.
Team Working & Risk Management
* Understand role within the organisation; work as an effective team member.
* Delegate safely; use clear referral mechanisms; manage own workload efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* RGN, current NMC registration
* Experience in primary care; chronic disease management; autonomous working
Desirable
* Chronic disease management qualifications in additional areas (asthma, COPD, CHD, diabetes)
* Childhood Immunisation and Cytology qualifications or willingness to train
* Clinical skills qualification, degree level or equivalent
* Independent Nurse Prescriber
