The Role:
As a member of the Sysco Network team, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing network support of Sysco’s initiative in networks and automation with a focus on delivering effective and efficient network support services. The Senior Network Engineer reports into the Network Manager but will be embedded into the Sysco Global Network team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related subject, and / or relevant network certifications including extensive experience.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Maintain key Network devices on a daily basis
2. Supports the user community via Service Now tickets, and assist in problem resolution
3. Monitor operations of LAN, WAN, Load Balancing, VPN, Security, and Wi-Fi
4. Monitors all aspects of project and daily operations as it relates to network services
5. Provide timely project status updates to customers, PMO Teams, and management
6. Performs operational tasks with Service Now ticket support. Understanding and ongoing support of all LAN, WAN, VPN, WLS, IPT, Load Balancing, Security, content filtering
7. Perform problem isolation within the network infrastructure
8. Participate in an enterprise infrastructure On-call rotation
9. Participate within projects across the enterprise network
10. Support the campus environments as required, remote site locations, and corporate Data Centre Locations
11. Develop operational knowledge of Network-based tools that support the enterprise network environments
Role Requirements:
You will have considerable understanding of the following infrastructures:
12. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, equivalent experience, CCNP, CCIE or other network qualifications
13. Expert knowledge in at least two of the following
14. Load balancers o Firewalls
15. BGP
16. IBGP, OSPF, EIGRP
17. Security
18. Cloud networks
19. Automation
20. Programming capability Python
21. Relevant Certifications CCNP or higher held continuously for 6+ years
22. Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
23. Strong understanding of network fundamentals
24. Security qualification and cloud experience would be an advantage
25. Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
26. Extensive knowledge of network integration with storage, compute, virtualization, security and wireless systems
27. Strong time management and critical thinking skills
28. Applying troubleshooting skills to resolve network issues
Technical Skills Requirement:

37. Motorola Wireless
38. QoS – Voice and Video Environments
39. Remote Cloud Services (AWS, SoftCloud, Azure)
40. VM Environments
41. TCP expert / Application performance expert
42. Sniffing and ability to read a trace
43. Network Tools – Fluke, Infoblox, Solarwinds,
44. Network drawings and design documentation (Visio)
45. Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
46. Switching and switching technologies (Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Stack technology,, LACP / Ether channel, HSRP, VRF, VSS)
47. Experience in large enterprise environments (300 sites)
48. Sniffer/packet capture capability
49. Remote site performance investigation
50. Hands-on experience with networks including physical layer infrastructure, Cisco-based LAN, WAN, IPT, WLS, Firewall hardware (Cisco & Checkpoint), F5 Load Balancing, Bluecoat Proxy, Cisco WAAS, SNMP based software, and interconnecting devices
51. Proven knowledge and practical application of network security across firewalls
52. Demonstrate the ability to formulate sound solutions based on formal training, research, and expertise with little guidance from management
53. Possess a high degree of professionalism, customer service, and dependable
54. Strong LAN, WAN, Security, Wireless, Load Balancing, and VPN troubleshooting capabilities
55. Ability to apply a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of technical concepts, practices, and procedures
56. Solid written and verbal communication
57. Must present exceptional leadership, problem-solving, decision making, and time management skills
58. Ability to work in a remote capacity
59. Ability to work in a team environment
