Copart are currently recruiting a Router to work as part of our transport team, based at our office in Bedford, MK44 3JZ. The Router is responsible for the efficient day-to-day routing of Copart’s collections, deliveries, and returns, supporting the national fleet of Transporters and the network of approved sub-contractors. You will focus on producing cost-effective, practical routes while ensuring customer SLAs are consistently met or exceeded. The role supports operational performance by maintaining accurate routing data, monitoring daily activity, and contributing to high standards of customer service for both internal and external customers. Main Duties & Responsibilities:- Produce cost-effective daily route schedules using PTV Route Optimiser Monitor daily routing performance and identify opportunities to improve collection and delivery efficiency Maintain routing software settings to support effective operational performance Support the achievement of internal KPI targets Liaise with subcontractors, drivers, and yards to support daily routing requirements and performance Assist in producing regular reports on fleet productivity, MPM, own driver usage, sub-haul usage, and associated costs Escalate routing or capacity issues to the relevant planning or management teams Ensure accurate system data and compliance with operational processes Skills and Knowledge Essential Previous experience in a routing or route planning role using route optimisation software Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce meaningful Excel reports Experience working to achieve KPI targets Ability to identify improvements within routing and scheduling processes Good geographical knowledge Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office packages Ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong communication and organisational skills Desirable Experience in the vehicle recovery or automotive logistics industry Experience using PTV or similar routing software in a multi-site operation What we offer you in return: Time For You: Relax with 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and an extra day for a personal special occasion.
