Owing to continued growth and high demand for our services in the UK and Ireland, we are looking for a Solar PV Project Manager to join our global energy team in the UK.
You will lead the delivery of Solar PV owner’s engineering projects for clients in the UK, Ireland, and worldwide, ensuring they are appropriately resourced, delivered on time and within budget, and supporting our clients to increase project value while reducing risks. This includes coordination of internal and external resources, deliverable reviews, origination (where applicable), and acceptance, alongside budget and schedule adherence, client liaison, and internal reporting. The role may also involve preparing bids for new work and participating in other advisory projects as needed.

Role responsibilities
1. Project Management:
Guide and manage PV projects from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones are met. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Coordinate with internal teams, client stakeholders, external contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
2. Owner’s Engineering:
Provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and drawings. Manage site assessments and feasibility studies. Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards. Provide local expertise and guidance.
3. Technical Support:
Support the preparation of technical specifications and tender documents. Evaluate bids and proposals. Assist during construction, commissioning, and operational phases. Manage performance assessments and troubleshooting of PV systems.
4. Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, authorities, and communities. Represent the company in technical discussions. Ensure transparent communication with all stakeholders.
5. Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control processes. Conduct site inspections and audits. Manage commissioning and acceptance testing of PV systems.
Candidate specification:
Essential:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) or a related discipline; relevant master's degree is a plus.
* Experience in Project Management.
* Knowledge of Solar PV development in the UK or Ireland is desirable.
* Working knowledge of Solar PV development and relevant design codes.
* Familiarity with PVsyst or similar software.
* Knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations.
* Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Desirable:
* Experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
* APQ certification.
* Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office and Project.
* Self-motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented.
* Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
* Clear communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-engineers.
* Ability to produce and review technical reports.
* Ability to chair and present at meetings.
