Salary: Up to £45,000 + package
The Role:
This isn’t your desk‑bound design job. As an Assistant Design Manager, you’ll sit at the heart of a multi‑disciplinary construction business, helping shape projects from concept through to completion. The work spans commercial, education, healthcare, conservation, and residential sectors - and we’re looking for someone who cares deeply about design and delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting the design management team through technical and architectural coordination
* Working closely with site teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure design intent is realised
* Helping to drive sustainable design solutions (low carbon, long life, low waste) - because that’s how we think at this company
* Producing and reviewing design drawings, drawings schedules, and information packs
* Managing design risk and design‑related contractual obligations
Who You Are:
* You’ve worked in design, architecture, or a similar role (or have a relevant qualification) and want to move into construction delivery
* Highly organised, detail‑focused, and confident liaising with both design and construction teams
* A problem solver - you enjoy turning design challenges into practical, buildable solutions
* Passionate about collaboration: this isn’t solo architect work - it’s team‑based, cross‑discipline, and employee‑owned
