Autism Teaching Assistant – Full-Time (Peterlee / Easington) Location: Peterlee / Easington Pay: £90–£110 per day Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing We’re recruiting a full-time Autism Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a nurturing, structured and inclusive school environment. You’ll work with pupils who are autistic and benefit from clear routines, calm communication and consistent support. This role is perfect for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and values patience and empathy. Key responsibilities: • 1:1 and small group support for autistic pupils • Supporting communication, routines and transitions • Helping pupils manage sensory and emotional needs • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff • Creating a calm, predictable learning environment The school values: • Understanding over judgement • Consistency and structure • Individual progress • Strong relationships with pupils and families Experience supporting autism is desirable but not essential. Training and guidance will be provided. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
