Job Description
Under general supervision of the Senior Engineering Manager, the Continuous Improvement Design Engineer is responsible for design efforts from inception through production in new product & continuous improvement designs.
This position will focus on material handling equipment for the aggregate industry such as tracked conveyors, hopper feeders, and telescopic stackers.
About The Role
The successful candidate will collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams including sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service. They will develop conceptual and final design solutions, manage project activities, support existing products, and perform testing or analysis to support product development.
* Lead quality improvement projects using D8 process
* Lead cost reduction efforts to add value for customers
* Implement equipment product improvements
* Handle engineered-to-order assignments
* Assist Service with technical issues
* Aid procurement with supply chain issues
* Implement safety evaluations and improvements
* Create and maintain engineering specifications and drawings
Skills Needed
Engineering skills including design, analysis, and troubleshooting.

Desired Criteria
* Experience designing complete tracked plants from concept to production
* Experience with FEA
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems troubleshooting
* Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems
* Understanding of engine, drivetrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems in mobile equipment
Required Criteria
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering
* At least 3 years’ experience in equipment design and manufacturing
* Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and Microsoft Office
* Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings
* Understanding manufacturing practices including metal cutting, forming, and welding
* Strong organization and time-management skills
