Pharmacy Technician – Oral SACT
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a skilled Pharmacy Technician – Oral SACT for our nurse‑led oral SACT service. This role offers a dynamic, patient‑focused environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.

You will develop clinical skills, conduct patient reviews, assess blood results, and manage drug toxicity and side effects in accordance with SACT regimen protocols.
You will contribute to medicines education, support data collection and audit processes, and play a key role in ensuring timely access to oral SACT treatments for patients closer to home. The position offers access to diverse development opportunities, a collaborative team environment, and the chance to pioneer a new technician role within the Trust.
The post holder will be based at the Christie Withington site but may be required to undertake roles and travel across the area served by The Christie. The Trust treats over 60,000 cancer patients annually and is a leading national specialist centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the nurse‑led oral SACT team and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients have timely, patient‑centric access to their medicines.
* Conduct patient reviews against SACT regimen protocols, reviewing blood results, toxicity assessments, and providing medicines information and education where required.
* Contribute to the development of medicines education resources.
* Support data collection and audit activities for continuous service improvement.
* Collaborate across the Trust to enable access to oral SACT therapies across all Christie sites, liaising with various teams and specialities.
* Demonstrate strong teamwork, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to patient‑focused services and continual improvement.
* Contribute to the wider clinical pharmacy service as outlined in the job specification.
