Overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The team currently includes two pharmacists (one prescribing), two pharmacy technicians and three prescription clerks. This part-time position is 18 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The role is suitable for a pharmacist looking to develop a prescribing career within primary care. The practice offers support and guidance to help you progress both personally and professionally. Ideally, we would like the candidate to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary General Practice team to apply pharmacist expertise to patient care and medicines optimization
* Prescribe and work independently as a prescribing pharmacist
* Conduct clinical medication reviews and manage care for patients with chronic diseases and polypharmacy, especially older adults and those with multiple comorbidities
* Provide specialist knowledge on medicines to address public health and social care needs and tackle inequalities
* Lead person-centred medicines optimisation, support antimicrobial stewardship, contribute to quality improvement, QOF and other commissioned services
* Support patients in taking medications effectively through structured medication reviews

Requirements
* Essential qualifications: Completed an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy; Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council; Working towards or holding a prescribing qualification
* Desirable: Prescribing in hypertension and/or hyperlipidaemia
* Experience: Minimum two years post-graduate experience; ideally experience in primary care; familiarity with GP systems (EMIS, Docman, AccuRx)
* Skills: Strong communication, listening, empathy, professionalism, time management, reliability, ability to work under pressure, emotional resilience, IT literacy
