Overview

Are you ready to take on a rewarding challenge in the heart of Westminster? We are seeking an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dedicated Joint Homelessness Team (JHT) on a full-time, ongoing contract. This dynamic role offers a competitive rate of £40 per hour, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact supporting homeless individuals with complex mental health needs. The position involves a hybrid working pattern, with office-based duties interspersed with one early morning or late evening outreach shift per month. If you are an experienced social worker with strong mental health expertise and current or recent AMHP warranting, this could be the perfect role for you.

* Flexible hybrid working allows you to enjoy a balance between professional commitments and personal life.
* Engage in meaningful work in a supportive team that thrives on collaboration and innovation.
* Develop and enhance your skills with continued professional development opportunities.
* Enjoy the vibrant culture and rich history of Westminster, a place full of life and excitement right at your doorstep.

What you will do

* Supervise and support social work staff, ensuring effective caseload management.
* Lead social care delivery, including Care Act eligibility and personal budgets, while addressing no recourse to public funds and Section 117 aftercare under the Mental Health Act.
* Serve as a Safeguarding Adults Manager, investigating safeguarding concerns to protect vulnerable individuals.
* Collaborate with individuals, families, and carers to promote recovery and self-care.
* Chair clinical and team meetings as required, sharing your expertise and insights.
* Hold a small caseload and participate in clinical social work activities, practising as an AMHP for the team.
* Maintain AMHP approval and registration with Social Work England.
* Conduct assessments in diverse settings such as street outreach, day centres, and hostels.
* Perform and document Care Act assessments, making necessary referrals.
* Take the lead on hospital discharge planning and collaborate with health colleagues for longer-term service user management.
* Participate in the team’s duty system to ensure comprehensive support coverage.

Westminster is not just a fantastic place to work; it’s a delightful place to live too.
