Manufacturing Management Accountant Salary: £40,000 per annum - DOE (Depending On Experience) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:15am-4:45pm, Friday 8:00am-2:00pm Location: Barnsley We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business, recently supported by new ownership, who are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Management Accountant to strengthen their finance function during a period of growth. This role would suit a qualified or part-qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with production and operations within a hands-on manufacturing environment. The Role Key responsibilities will include: Supporting production and manufacturing accounting activities Standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis Work-in-progress (WIP) accounting and revenue recognition Inventory control, stock valuation, and material usage reporting Month-end close, management accounts, and production cost reporting Budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives Analysis of overhead absorption, labour efficiency, and machine utilisation Working closely with production, engineering, and operations teams Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP); IFRS knowledge beneficial Experience, Skills & Qualifications Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience Manufacturing or metals engineering background preferred (fabrication, machining, job shop) Strong understanding of production accounting and manufacturing finance Experience using ERP/MRP systems within a manufacturing environment Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling Commercially minded with a strong attention to detail Confident communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting Hands-on approach with a genuine interest in shop-floor processes Structure & Progression Role reports into senior leadership at site or director level Opportunity to play a key role in shaping finance processes following new ownership Strong exposure across production, engineering, and operations Package & Benefits £33,000 to £40,000 basic salary Pension scheme 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Please feel free to apply or for a confidental chat email me on:
