Hays is delighted to be supporting a secondary school in central Wiltshire in the recruitment of a full‑time Teacher of Food Technology for a long‑term temporary role, starting after the Easter holidays. There is potential for this position to be permanent for the right candidate.

Your new role
As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop students’ technical skills, creativity and subject knowledge. At KS3, you will be part of a rotating Design & Technology curriculum, while at KS4 you will contribute to the delivery of GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition .
You will plan and deliver well‑structured lessons, assess and monitor student progress, and contribute to the development of schemes of learning alongside a collaborative and supportive DT faculty. Maintaining high expectations, ensuring safe working practices and fostering a positive learning environment will be key aspects of the role. The post may also include Form Tutor responsibilities and participation in the wider life of the school.
What you'll need to succeed
You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have the right to work in the UK. An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one, is required in line with safeguarding requirements.
You should have experience teaching Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition at secondary level, with strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage students of all abilities. You will be an organised and reflective practitioner, confident in managing practical lessons andmitted to high standards of teaching and learning. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply, as the school and Trust offer excellent mentoring and professional development opportunities.
