Regional and Fire Management Services Division Manager Monkey Mia Conservation Centre DBCA3160620 PSCA, Level 4, $95,782 - $100,526 plus District Allowance, Air Conditioning Allowance, plus 12% Superannuation

The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.

We currently have an opportunity for a Manager Monkey Mia Conservation Centre to join our team.

Under the general direction of the District Coordinator Parks and Visitor Services, this position:

1. Manages the day-to-day operation of the Monkey Mia Conservation Centre (MMCC) as a self-funding business, including staff supervision and rostering, retail operations, supplier management, marketing activities and financial performance.

2. Leads the delivery of high-quality visitor services, ensuring effective visitor management, retail presentation, safe site operation and well-informed, customer-focused staff.

3. Ensures the MMCC operates as a profitable and well-presented visitor facility that enhances visitors’ understanding and appreciation of the natural values of the Monkey Mia Conservation Park and Recreation Reserve, with all revenue reinvested into MMCC operations and park visitor services.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.

4. Experience in contributing to retail and merchandise sales and development, business development and marketing strategies and applying financial management skills to a business enterprise.

5. Experience in supervising, managing and training others and working as part of a team.

6. Evidence of well - developed oral and interpersonal skills and experience in liaising, consulting and negotiating with businesses, commercial tourism operators and the general public to deliver a positive and educational visitor experience.
