The Role
Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for things that go bang? Are you looking for a meaningful engineering role to apply your skills? A number of opportunities exist to join our dynamic and vibrant Defence project team in the Maritime Explosive Ordnance System Program Office (MEOSPO) as an APS 6 Engineering Professional. These roles are located in HMAS Stirling WA, and Penrith NSW. Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Investigating, analysing, and reporting on engineering concepts and risks;
* Managing the configuration of guided weapons and explosive ordnance items;
* Planning and delivering critical engineering activities;
* Providing advice to stakeholders;
* Mentoring junior members; and
* Enabling good inventory decisions with quality and timely engineering advice.
Success in this role requires the ability to analyze and apply systems of work, government decision-making, and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
About our Team
MEOSPO is part of the Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB), within the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance Systems Division (GWEOSD). Our team, located across Canberra, Penrith, Amberley, Melbourne, and HMAS Stirling, focuses on acquiring and sustaining guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.
