Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair, showcasing a strong mechanical knowledge base and the ability to work with various types of machinery. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including automotive diagnostics, brake repair, and transmission work.
* Repair and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
* Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks.
* Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
* Conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential problems before they escalate.
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repairs needed and services performed.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
* Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery as required for repairs or maintenance tasks.
Requirements
* Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair, diesel engine repair, and heavy equipment operation.
* Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices including air brake systems, alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and tire service.
* Experience with fabrication techniques is a plus; welding skills are also desirable.
* Ability to lift heavy objects as part of the job requirements.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
* Previous dealership experience or service technician experience is preferred but not mandatory.
