A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a high-performing leader to join the All-weather Lifeboat Centre (ALC) in Poole as Production Operations Manager. Your Role
As the Production Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management for the ALC. The portfolio includes the build, refit and repair of the RNLI’s assets and being responsible for the collective budget of >£10M.
You will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
9. Provide leadership and direction for all teams in the ALC ensuring expectations are clear and stretched targets and objectives (cost, quality, delivery and safety) are implemented and be accountable for the successful delivery of ALC projects and production
10. Provide inspiring leadership to create an environment of positive, inclusive, and diverse employee engagement whereby employees are engaged, committed, motivated and work effectively together with colleagues across the RNLI
11. To lead stakeholder engagement and work collaboratively across ES and the RNLI to build effective relationships (i.e., Safety & Assurance, Environmental and Sustainability, Asset Planning, Training, Lifesaving Operations)
12. Ensuring the 5-year strategy is aligned with all other RNLI production facilities to facilitate opportunities for collaboratively working to achieve delivery and production efficiencies
13. Lead the implementation and monitoring of all ALC projects, policies, practices, and standards needed to assure the quality, compliance and safe delivery of activities and outputs, in line with the RNLI’s compliance and quality frameworks and relevant legislation
14. Drive forward opportunities to improve ALC project processes and practices by encouraging, facilitating, and supporting the team to generate innovation ideas. Specifically achieving high performance in the achievement of Quality Management aligned to IS09001
About You
You’ll be strongly customer focused and able to deliver to the standards set by others, whilst also providing inspirational and innovative leadership to your own team. To be considered as Production Operations Manager you will need:
15. Demonstrable leadership experience of delivering technical projects to time and budget.
16. Strong leadership ability of driving improvement, leading through change, with a strong employee engagement focus
17. Substantial business and operational management experience of low volume high-value manufacturing/repair of a production marine facility.
18. Strong communication and extensive experience of managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
19. Advanced knowledge in innovative construction techniques.
20. Experience of an ISO 9001:2000 quality systems.
