Lead Maintenance Engineer
Scantec Recruitment is partnering with a renowned FMCG manufacturing company at their site in Bolton, Greater Manchester. This global organization produces some of the most recognizable brands in the market. We are seeking a Lead / Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead a small team (2 people) at a site that has recently undergone multimillion-pound investments. This role offers excellent career progression opportunities and training, with a direct path to Engineering Manager.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all shift engineering maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting production efficiencies in a fast-paced 24/7 FMCG environment.

Working hours / Shifts:
4 days on, 4 days off (2 days / 2 nights), from 06:30 - 18:30 / 18:30 - 06:30. Overtime is available and paid at 1.5x and double time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2 engineers.
* Manage engineering shift resources to maximize plant and equipment availability.
* Ensure the shift is effective, flexible, and aligned with site demands.
* Implement cost-saving initiatives, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and reduce waste.
* Collaborate with the FLM team to achieve high shift performance, emphasizing safety and quality.
* Operate to maximize machine uptime, planned maintenance, safety, quality, hygiene, and budget adherence.
Qualifications & Experience:
Applicants should have a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship (Electrical or Multi-skilled) and qualifications such as ONC or BTEC (HNC is desirable). Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is preferred.
