Job Description
A leading Construction and Facilities Management contractor is seeking an experienced and fully qualified Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This is a mobile role working across a range of commercial sites, between Southampton and Bournemouth. Delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, and installations of gas systems as part of planned and reactive maintenance works.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Undertake maintenance and repair of gas plant systems across multiple sites.\n\n * \n\n Carry out fabric and basic electrical maintenance tasks in line with contract requirements.\n\n * \n\n Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance to required legislative and safety standards.\n\n * \n\n Ensure timely completion and submission of all paperwork, including job reports, service records, and compliance documentation.\n\n * \n\n Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours emergency support as needed.\n\n * \n\n Monitor and supervise visiting subcontractors, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with Health & Safety regulations.\n\n * \n\n Issue and manage Permits to Work, control small works, and undertake escorting duties as required.\n\n * \n\n Ensure all compliance certification is correctly completed, and remedial works are clearly identified and documented.\n\n * \n\n Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant statutory and mandatory requirements relating to gas safety and building maintenance.\n\n * \n\n Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with company policies, industry regulations, and customer expectations.\n\n * \n\n Proactively identify and report risks or issues that may impact service delivery or compliance.\n\n * \n\n Support and contribute to a safe working environment through adherence to risk assessments and method statements.\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Must hold a full, current driving licence\n\n * \n\n Strong customer care focus\n\n * \n\n Good communication skills\n\n * \n\n Proactive approach to work\n\n * \n\n Ability to anticipate, diagnose, and repair faults\n\n * \n\n Able to complete essential paperwork accurately and on time\n\n * \n\n Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines\n\n * \n\n Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on a variety of equipment, including:\n\n * \n\n Boiler plant\n\n * \n\n Ventilation systems\n\n * \n\n Pumps\n\n * \n\n Generators\n\n * \n\n Switchgear\n\n * \n\n Cables\n\n * \n\n Batteries\n\n * \n\n Small power and lighting (where applicable)\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices\n\nBenefits Package\n\nPension, Life Assurance, Use of company vehicle for personal use, Employee Shares Schemes, Reward programme & Employee Assistance programme along with many other benefits & employee discounts.\n\nThis is a permanent position, and Coleman James are acting as an Employment Agency
