SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Autism Support (Post-16) - Oldham
Location: Oldham
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £100 per day (depending on experience)
Setting: Autism Unit (Post-16 Provision)
Responsibilities
* Providing consistent 1:1 support for a student with autism within the post-16 unit
* Supporting social communication, independence skills and personalised learning programmes
* Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management, using Team Teach strategies
* Promoting a safe, inclusive and engaging environment tailored to individual needs
* Working closely with teachers, therapists and SEN staff to deliver individual support plans
Essential Requirements
* Valid Enhanced DBS covering both Child and Adult Workforce
* Team Teach trained (or equivalent positive handling training)
* Proven experience supporting young people with autism and challenging behaviour
* Patience, resilience and a nurturing, calm approach
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
