Events Coordinator - Marketing Belfast (4-10 Linenhall Street, BT2 8BP) Belfast City Council About the Role Belfast City Council is seeking an experienced Events Coordinator to support the delivery, coordination, and promotion of a diverse programme of outdoor events across parks and open spaces. You will play a key role in ensuring events are well-planned, compliant, safe, and effectively promoted, helping to increase public engagement and promote key council messages. Key Responsibilities Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of parks-based events and activities Act as first point of contact for event enquiries and bookings Assist with event licensing, legal agreements, and risk assessments Coordinate third-party and large-scale promoter-led events Support event promotion, marketing content, and publicity materials (online and print) Act as Deputy Event Controller at council events when required Liaise with internal departments, external partners, emergency services, and community groups Assist with budgets, procurement, purchase orders, and invoice processing Support sponsorship opportunities and event income generation Monitor and evaluate event performance and produce reports Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and council policies About You To be successful, you will have: Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) including English (or equivalent) At least 1 year's experience in: Planning and delivering outdoor events Producing content for marketing, online and print materials Strong organisational and project management skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work with stakeholders across public, private, and community sectors Experience working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities Desirable Skills Experience working in local authority or public sector events Knowledge of event licensing, compliance, and risk management Marketing or communications experience within events delivery How to Apply Please submit your CV and demonstrate relevant experience in line with the essential criteria.
