Role Overview
The Starting Well 0-19 Service are looking to appoint a permanent Starting Well Nursery Nurse to a part time position of 22.5 hours per week. Working days are over 3 days by negotiation.
Post holder will be expected to work flexibly within the District they are appointed to and, if needed, support colleagues across districts.
The post holder must have access to transport as commuting for community contacts in family homes and within the many Starting Well Children's Centres venues is essential.
Responsibilities
The role will incorporate delegated pieces of work from the Health Visiting Team, group sessions to parents/carers, delivery of the National Childhood Measurement Programme and school entry vision and hearing screening.
Post holders would become part of a unique integrated service, supporting delivery of key elements of the Health Child Programme to Cheshire West and Chester Children, Young People and their Families (CYPF) on behalf of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS foundation trust (CWP).
The successful candidates should be able to provide accurate advice and support that enables children, their families and carers to maximise their health, wellbeing and potential to learn and lead in clinical activity such as Open Advice Clinics and Developmental checks. They are expected to manage discreet allocation in relation to parenting support with key topics being toilet training, bedtime routines and mealtimes.
The role will also incorporate delivery of the National Childhood Measurement Programme and school entry vision and hearing screening.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidate must have access to transport as commuting for community contacts in family homes and within the many Starting Well Children's Centres venues is essential.
It is essential that candidates demonstrate a commitment to multi‑agency, collaborative and integrated team working.
Training & Development
All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
