Ipswich Borough Council currently have an excellent opportunity for a suitable candidate to join the team and train as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to study and obtain a professional qualification through the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors and develop a career within Internal Audit. About the role Internal Audit provide independent assurance that an organisation’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. The council will give you the support to undertake a variety of audit assignments and projects under the direction of senior Internal Audit staff. As a career grade post, the postholder will progress into the post of Auditor (Grade 7) on successful completion of the CIA qualification and relevant practical experience. The CIA qualification must be completed in three years, and the successful candidate will be supported to achieve this with part-time study alongside on the job training and development. About you To meet the entry requirements to study for the CIA, you should hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or have experience working in Internal Audit. You will be naturally inquisitive and have good communication skills.
