Role Description:
We are looking for an Electronics engineer / Equipment Engineer with an interest in a wide range of disciplines to provide technical support to shift equipment engineers covering all areas of silicon wafer processing equipment, package and test. Projects will include equipment installations, improvements and solving underlying equipment issues. This equipment is housed within three clean areas requiring full gowning.
It is a multi-disciplined role where you work hands-on and gain experience with gases, chemicals, robotics, vacuum, electrical and electronics. The role is onsite and works Monday - Friday office hours. There is flexibility to choose early or later start/finish working patterns to suit you.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond rapidly to equipment issues using your electronics knowledge and experience. Work to ensure that a timely repair is carried out, and clear progress updates are provided to the production teams. Lead cross-functional teams within Teledyne and external engineers, recording actions and minutes of meetings on the more complex issues as they arise.
2. Project work, installing new equipment and equipment modifications. Providing all the necessary documentation and training to others.
3. Responsible for producing all risk assessments for all equipment. Also host and control of contractors reviewing their method statements and risk assessments, issuing a permit to work.
Experience and qualifications:
* Experience in a multidisciplinary engineer role with skills combining electromechanical engineering and electronics.
* The ability to understand circuit diagrams and provide board level and component fixes to a range of electronic equipment including some critical vintage kit.
* The willingness to wear Self-contained Breathing Apparatus in this role after passing a medical and receiving training.
* Due to cleanroom working, the wearing of makeup is not allowed, and smoking is prohibited 4 hours before entering the cleanroom (non-smokers preferred).
