Job overview
Under the supervision of the Unit Manager you will be responsible for the provision, organisation and direction of nursing care of the patients in your care. You will need to communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and high quality care is provided to all patients.
NHS Employees should ideally secure their manager’s agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis as It has been established to provide cover for an absent employee and will end in 6 months or when the substantive postholder returns. Whilst this post is advertised on an acting / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future.

Accountable for nursing practice and takes every opportunity to sustain and improve your knowledge and professional competence.
Participates in the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care relevant to patients within sphere of responsibility and under supervision.
To be sensitive to the needs of patients in relation to courtesy, privacy and dignity.
To be familiar and adhere to Trust and Divisional objectives, policies, guidelines and current legislation.

In conjunction with senior nursing staff and specialist nurses participate in the setting/monitoring and evaluation of standards of care to patients.
To communicate effectively with all members of multi-disciplinary team regarding patient care.
To assist with the investigation and timely resolution of complaints and PALS enquiries.
Person specification
Qualifications
* RGN
* Proof of continuing professional development
* Preferably a teaching and assessing qualification
* Degree /Diploma Studies
* Specialists Skills Course
Experience
* Experience of working autonomously and as a member of a team.
* Experience within Gynaecology nursing
* NHS Experience
* Knowledge of audit research
* Demonstrate underpinning knowledge of infertility
Skills
* Clinical skills within Gynaecology/Fertility
* Excellent Verbal, Written and Interpersonal Communication skills.
* Demonstrate the ability to maintain and improve patient care.
* Basic Computer Skills
Knowledge
* Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
* Knowledge of evidence based practice. Understanding of research/audit.
* Understanding of education/student requirements
Additional
* Self-motivated, with flexible and positive approach to work.
* Good record of attendance
* Demonstrate a passion for quality nursing care. Good communication skills
