About Us:
The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers, or small businesses, and their financial service providers.
OurProcurementteam plays a crucial role inmaking sure that we are providing an efficient and effective procurement service. Our role in managing andmaintainingthe supply of goods and services to the Ombudsman is vital tooursmooth operation.
WhatYou’llDo:
1. Completing your apprenticeship qualification
2. Providing quality first line customer support and dealing with a variety of queries via email, phone or in person whilst ensuring policy and process is adhered to.
3. Providing an exceptional customer service that is professional,friendlyand approachable
4. Processing a range of operational tasks for our customers throughout all stages of theprocurementlifecycle.
5. Managing your own workload as well as helping the whole team succeed
6. Identifyingareas of concern and suggesting potential process improvements
7. Proactively taking ownership of your own development and buildingProcurementknowledge to pass your apprenticeship and make a valuable contribution to the team.
8. Using our systems and processes in line with our organisational policies
To be considered for this role,you’llneed to show us thatyou’vegot the skills and capabilities.You’llhave to meet the followingminimumcriteria:
MinimumCriteria
9. You will have achieved 5 GSCEs at grade A-C, including English and Maths (or equivalent qualification)
10. On enrolment onto the apprenticeship (September 2026) you will not be in full-timeeducationorreceiving of funding for other learning programmes.
11. You will need a full UK Right to Work for the duration oftheapprenticeship, and have valid and eligible residency status and bearesident in the UK for 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship

The recruitment process
Once you have applied, the recruitment process is as follows:
Online tests:The team will review your qualifications once the job advert has closed. If you meet therequirements,you will be emailed the teststo complete, which must be completed within 72 hours. The tests are:
· Cognitive Ability test to assess your problem solving, critical thinking & attention to detail
· Workplace Behaviour Assessment, to evaluate ifyou’dbe happy in the role applied for.
On-demand Video interview:If you pass thepreviousstage,you will be sentanon-demand videointerviewto complete. This is your opportunity to tell us why you have applied for an apprenticeship, and how you feel you would be a good fit for the apprenticeship you applied for. You have 72 hours to complete this step. If you are successful, you will be invited to an interview.

Face to face interview:If you are successful after theon-demandvideo interview, you will be invited to an interview with your future team. Here we are looking to understand if you have the skills to excel in the apprenticeship. It is also your opportunity to learn more about the Financial Ombudsman Service & whatyou’llbe doing as an apprentice.
