Overview
Low Observable (LO) Design & Integration Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior) – Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works, Berkeley, MO (onsite).
Phantom Works is Boeing Defense's advanced design division responsible for designing, building, and testing future capabilities for the Nation's defense. The LO Design & Integration Engineer will contribute to multi-disciplinary configuration design maturation and trade studies, perform high fidelity Radar Cross Section analysis and optimizations, develop component RCS test models, and perform testing to validate RCS requirements. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of analytical modeling using Method of Moments and Physical Optics computational electromagnetic codes.
Responsibilities
* Support the LO Design and Integration team
* Work within an Integrated Product Team
* Develop and integrate cutting edge low observable technologies
* Participate in weekly configuration development activities
* Direct multi-discipline trades studies
* Perform design optimization through electromagnetic modeling and simulation
* Analyze signature RF test data
* Work with suppliers and customers (internal & external) to ensure compliance with technical requirements
* Integrates and conduct testing of LO components
Other Responsibilities May Include
* Teamwork: Candidates must be able to positively interact with a wide range of personnel in design, fabrication and testing of prototypes and aircraft parts and systems, including suppliers
* Data visualization and communication: Disseminate results and status to project stakeholders
* Technical writing: Create and edit specifications, procedures and reports
* Flexibility: Manage multiple simultaneous projects in various states of maturity and/or multiple activities within a single project
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science
* Level 2: 2+ years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s
* Level 3: 5+ years with a Bachelor’s or 3+ years with a Master’s or PhD
* Level 4: 9+ years with a Bachelor’s or 7+ years with a Master’s or 4+ years with a PhD
* Familiarity with LO Engineering Processes, Aircraft Design, Electromagnetic Propagation, Supportable Low Observables, LO Materials & Processes
Additional Requirements
* Onsite: This position is 100% onsite at the listed location
* Travel: Travel may be required up to 10% domestically
* Security and Citizenship: Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance with interim and/or final Top Secret Clearance post-start; SAP clearance may be required
* Export Controls: U.S. Person required
