Offer description

ProInfoNet is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Network Operations (NOC Director) to lead our Network Operations Center (NOC) and oversee all aspects of service delivery, network monitoring, and operational excellence across our managed network environments—including those supporting the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC). This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across complex, multi-tenant infrastructures.

The Director will work alongside the current NOC Manager to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and will assume full operational oversight upon their retirement. The ideal candidate brings a blend of deep technical expertise in IP networking and systems operations with proven leadership, process improvement, and strategic communication skills.

What You’ll Do:

* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing NOC team, including Tier 1–3 technicians and shift leads.
* Oversee all NOC operations, ensuring SLA compliance, incident management, and proactive monitoring.
* Foster a culture of accountability, precision, and reliability across all NOC functions.
* Plan and manage 24/7/365 staffing coverage, team scheduling, and workload distribution.
* Develop and maintain operational standards, escalation paths, and change-control documentation.
* Implement monitoring and automation improvements to reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to repair (MTTR).
* Collaborate with Engineering, Field Services, and Project Management to ensure smooth rollouts and stable network operations.
* Oversee onboarding and operational readiness for new technologies, including SD-WAN, EVPN, and advanced transport solutions.
* Partner with executive leadership to establish goals, KPIs, and technology roadmaps that align with organizational strategy.
* Manage vendor relationships, carrier escalations, and service contracts.
* Provide data-driven reporting on network performance, incidents, capacity, and resource utilization.
* Work alongside the current NOC Manager to document workflows, knowledge, and system configurations during transition.
* Evaluate and refine team structure to support future growth, modernization, and process maturity.

What You Bring:

* 8+ years of experience in network operations or infrastructure management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* Strong understanding of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF/EVPN) and carrier-grade topologies.
* Proven success leading NOC or operations teams in 24/7 environments.
* Experience with network monitoring and automation tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or LogicMonitor.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration.
* Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data, KPIs, and operational efficiency.

Preferred Certifications and Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
* CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent professional networking certification.
* Experience supporting healthcare or federally subsidized networks (RHC, E-Rate, etc.).
* Familiarity with SD-WAN and enterprise edge platforms such as Versa, Fortinet, or Cisco.
* Background in managed services, service provider operations, or multi-tenant network environments.
