Livestock Manager – Belfast
We are recruiting a Livestock Manager (Stud Farm Manager) to lead operations at a modern, high-tech livestock facility based in Belfast. You will have overall responsibility for site performance, livestock management and team leadership, ensuring output and production targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Full oversight of stud farm operations
* Driving output and performance targets
* Managing livestock health, nutrition and welfare to maximise production
* Leading a structured team: Direct management of 2 Team Leaders; 7 indirect leadership of approximately 16 additional team members
* Performance management, staff development and workforce planning
* Maintaining accurate data recording and using insights to drive improvement
* Working closely with the Vet and laboratory team to optimise production
* Ensuring high standards of biosecurity, health & safety and animal welfare
The Company
Our client operates a modern stud and collection facility serving markets across the UK, Ireland and internationally. Significant investment has been made into SMART farming systems, advanced animal monitoring technology and laboratory capabilities, creating a highly systemised, performance driven environment.
The Candidate
* Strong livestock experience (dairy, beef, sheep, poultry or similar — zoo experience also considered)
* Experience managing people (e.g. Assistant Farm Manager ready to step up)
* Motivated by performance and output targets
* Strong data recording and systems capability
* Organised, structured and commercially aware
* Full clean driving licence
* Experience working within robotics or modern dairy systems
* Comfortable working in a highly systemised, technology-driven environment
* Experience in performance-led agricultural businesses
The Package
* £40,000 salary (flexible for exceptional candidates)
* Relocation support may be considered if required, though preference is for local candidates
