Principal Clinical Psychologist - West Dorset
A fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Psychologist/neuropsychologist to contribute to the development of a neuropsychological pathway across West Dorset Stroke & Neuro inpatient services. You will apply extensive experience with stroke and neurological conditions within rehabilitation teams, support patient transition, MDT formulation, education & supervision, and provide expert clinical input across the Stroke & Neuro units at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) specifically HASU. The role is based at DCH and the Yeatman Hospital, Sherborne, with travel across the county as required. Resilience and the ability to support others in the team are essential.
* Provide a specific clinical psychology service to people with stroke & neurological conditions.
* Support & strengthen a distributed model of psychological care provided by the Stroke Specialist MDT.
* Deliver effective, evidence‑based & expert clinical neuropsychological and clinical psychological assessments & interventions.
* Provide & facilitate MDT clinical formulations integrating highly complex variables that may change over time.
* Offer advice & consultation on clients’ clinical psychological/neuropsychological situation to all members of the MDT, to other relevant people including family and carers.
* Utilise research skills for audits, policy & service developments.
* Work scientifically and apply research as part of the clinical approach of the service.
* Provide education & supervision for members of the team involved in assessment & intervention.
