Meadows Care provide therapeutic care homes for young people with emotional and behavioural needs, with homes for up to 3 or 4 young people. We have been running since 2004 and have homes across the North-West and the Midlands.
Meadows Care provides specialist residential therapeutic services to help young people learn, grow, develop and achieve. We aim to help young people to thrive and to reach their potential. Therapeutic care is integrated into our service model and throughout our services, with all staff trained and competent in our therapeutic model (M-ARC) which ensures we are a trauma led service focusing upon the therapeutic, attachment and psychological needs of our young people. Our passionate and nurturing staff are skilled, well trained and well supported by managers and clinicians.
JOB PURPOSE
* To undertake and meet the requirements of Stage 2 Forensic Psychology Training.
* To provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to support young people at Meadows Care
* To take on a caseload of young people and act as Joint Lead Therapist overseeing therapeutic input into one of our residential children’s homes.
* To liaise with care and education services to ensure a wrap-around service for the young person.
* To contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive ‘therapeutic service’ within Meadows Care.
* To work systemically providing psychological advice and consultation to residential care home staff and other professionals working at Meadows Care, to enable them to better meet the psychological needs and to manage the behaviour of the young people within the service.
* To deliver training to support residential care staff to meet the aforementioned aims.
* To assist in the development of the Meadows Care ‘Therapy Service’ in accordance with the needs of Meadows Care.
* To conduct research to evaluate own practice and audit the service.
* To work independently on a day-to-day basis under supervision and subject to review at regular intervals, in accordance with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS) guidelines; supervision will be offered by a Forensic Psychologist and supported by Principal Clinical Psychologist
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* A Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) with the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC).
* Hold a postgraduate qualification in Forensic Psychology. Experience of working with young people with complex presentations (e.g. CLA, CAMHS, YOT)
* Experience of coordinating therapeutic care
* To have range of skills in assessment, formulation and intervention
* Ability to apply knowledge of psychological theories to health and social care
