Job Description

Join Our Team as a Specialist Senior Practitioner in Children's Services

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Children Services team. This isn't your average social work role; it's a specialist, non-case holding position where you'll be instrumental in shaping safeguarding decisions and enhancing practice quality.

If you're passionate about high-quality assessments and ready to make a significant impact without the burden of a full caseload, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Be Doing:

In this crucial role, you'll focus exclusively on completing in-depth assessments, providing expert analysis, and supporting your colleagues. Your key responsibilities will include:

* Undertaking CUBAS (Capacity to Understand and Be Aware of Safeguarding) and Parent Assess assessments to an exceptionally high standard.

* Preparing detailed, analytical reports that directly inform care planning and court proceedings.

* Supporting and guiding other social workers in understanding and effectively applying complex assessment frameworks.

* Contributing to vital safeguarding decisions through your expert analysis and recommendations.

* Providing clear and compelling evidence in court when required.

* Actively promoting and maintaining consistent, high-quality practice across the entire team.

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this specialist role, you'll need:

* To be a Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.

* Demonstrable training in CUBAS and/or ParentAssess assessments.

* Proven, hands-on experience in successfully completing both CUBAS and ParentAssess assessments.

* A strong, comprehensive understanding of safeguarding principles and care proceedings.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for report writing and court testimony.

* The ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and effectively support other social workers in their assessment practice.
